Love Chronicle. Part Two

Some of you may have read in the first Love Chronicle that I have started writing these journals to add more love, more playfulness and more feel good energy to the world.

In this addition I am focusing on a lot of amazing things that are all online - yep crazy right - the woman who wants you to be offline more, pen hand written notes and get your beautiful face out of a screen is suggesting you check out things online. It is all about balance and to be honest I took this approach to turn a negative upside down. The online world can be a pretty awful place, the standard bad news, average TV, people letting ego rule and becoming 'keyboard warriors'. I set out looking for some good, some heart warming, thought provoking magic to prove my the theory that there is beauty everywhere.

Brené Brown Netflix Special: A Call To Courage

Brené is a Research Professor, best selling author of six books and presented one of the most watched TED Talks of all time. She has spent her career studying Shame, Vulnerability & Courage and personally I find her to be one of the most prolific people of our time. With humour and empathy, Brené discusses what it takes to choose courage over comfort in a culture defined by scarcity, fear and uncertainty. A Call To Courage is brilliant and if you allow all that she says to really sink in you cannot walk away with without feeling enlightened and ready to be vulnerable and courageous.

”Nothing has transformed my life more than realising that it’s a waste of time to evaluate my worthiness by weighing the reaction of the people in the stands.”

Cj Hendry

Cj is an Australian contemporary artist who is known for her hyperrealism work. Her pencil and pen sketches are so meticulously detailed they look like photographs. For her latest solo exhibition “Rorschach,” in Dumbo, Brooklyn, she created a bounce house designed to look like the inside of a mental hospital. It is fun, the walls are made of Lego, and her latest pieces are divine. Whilst nothing really compares to seeing art in the flesh she bridged that gap for people not able to see the exhibition in NYC and created a virtual experience of the exhibition on her website.

The Smiths

I find this family so refreshing and interesting. Years ago I remember the media reporting their family dynamic as odd and their parenting bizarre - the more I reflect I think they were ahead of the curve. Both Willow and Jayden are musical talents and have such a profound view on life for their age. Jada and Will are both playing in the online world in ways that I haven't really seen before via Facebook Watch (remember I am not tech talented). Jada with the Red Table Talks and Will with Will Smith's Bucket List. Jada with the help of her 17-year-old daughter, Willow, and her mother, Adrienne Banfield-Jones, comfortably covers juicy topics like sex, love, and family while also interviewing the odd celebrity. Will on the other hand jumps out of planes and swims with sharks all while being 'dad funny'.

Joe Rogan x Russell Brand Podcast

I really enjoy listening podcasts - especially Joe Rogan. This may be the second spin out in one journal post but I really enjoy martial arts which is why I started listening to Joe. Last week he interview another guy who I find super interesting and insightful, Russell Brand. Two very different people discussing big topics from spirituality, the discipline of learning, mentors, and hunting vs veganism in such a beautiful way. I can't help but think if we could all be discussing big topics and opposing views with such respect and grace the world would be a better place.

Until next time.

All my love

Holly
